About Thunderstruck
To all interested applicants,
We are a 3 day a week, 5 hour a night raiding guild. To many, this means "casual" and in many respects that is an accurate description. However in several key areas we are far from casual; the most over arching of these is the rate at which we will progress.
Most of the current raiding core came from a Sunwell raiding guild that cleared all of the content in there. We have all been hardcore raiders since the release of the game and strive to be the best. We look forward to clearing all of the Wrath content along side the other top guilds of the server.
We Raid:
Tuesday- 8-12
Wednesday- 8-12
Sunday- 8-12
Invites go out at 6:50 on those nights.
We do loot based on a Loot Council system. In our decisions we look at attendance, loot received and performance.
Requirements:
Progression is driven by a number of things. On time starts, high member attendance, absence of unnecessary AFK's, and raid preparedness. Allow me to briefly touch on Thunderstuck's exepections of you, it's raiders, in each of these areas.
-On Time Starts: Raids start @ 7pm Tues/Weds/Sunday. Several of you already let us know you will be late on one of these given nights which, again, is acceptable in our "casual" guild. What is not acceptable is the general raider signing on at 6:59 and expecting to be able to go repair, hit the AH for consumables, check mail, etc. 7pm means first pull. 6:50, you should be ready for your raid invite, preferably at the stone to assist in what few summons should be neccessary (on days when the raid zone is known).
-High Member Attendance: Out expectation is 70%+ attendance from core raiders. That's all I will say about this for now. The tracking system for this will be open to you very soon for your review.
-Absence Of Unnecessary AFKs: These. Kill. Raids. An AFK tank or healer may mean we cant pull, or we pull and wipe unnecessarily. DPS, these does not mean you are off the hook. Assuming a standard raid of 4 tanks, 7 healers, and 14 DPS your AFK just reduced our clearing speed by ~7%. Above ALL ELSE, if you MUST AFK, Do. Not. Ninja. AFK. We've already talked individually with a few about this. Know that it will not be tolerated. If you MUST AFK, at least have the common decency to make it known in /ra or to an Officer in tells (wait for a CONFIRMATION if you send a tell, we get tons and could miss yours.)
-Communicate effectively via Mumble- Mumble is a program that you must have and would be great that you can talk when needed. (Understandable at times when you can not speak). Being able to communicate will greatly increase our chances in downing a boss for example being able to call out that something is on cool down.
-Prepared for raids with consumables, repair money, and an understanding of the encounter- This is pretty easy to understand. Come to every raid with your flasks, elixirs, food, etc. Also be ready to have gold for repairs if needed. If you have a problem with getting gold or getting consumables contact an officer and we can try and help you out. When we set out for a boss know the encounter. Understand every aspect of the fight even if it doesn't pertain to your class you should still understand it.
-VERY knowledgeable about your class- At thunderstruck we are not looking for players who just started playing the game and barely know the mechanics of their class. We expect every applicant to understand and be fully committed to finding out more about their class. With almost every patch aspects of every class sometimes will change.
-Mature enough to handle jokes and tolerate criticism- The sense of humor in the guild at times is wrong to people. Many of the players in the guild joke a lot in chat and in vent. Be able to take a joke. Also be able to take criticism when you are called out openly in vent for a mistake. Officers will be the only ones that will be doing this and most of the time we will not call out a specific person over vent. (will contact a person via tells) Unless the problem continues to happen.
-Stable Internet Connection- Have a stable connection please. We don't want someone who gets disconnected every 10 minutes due to his poor connection. This will slow down our raids due to lack of a dps or could cause a wipe due to lack of heals or a tank missing.
-PvE mindset: you play this game to kill bosses and see new content.- <TS> is a PvE guild. Most of us PvP during downtime's but the guild is a PvE guild. Understand that we are a guild that is here to kill bosses. (Raid bosses not City Bosses)
-Reasonably social and have a good sense of humor- As previously stated we like to joke a lot in the guild. Don't take offense to it. As a guild we are also not looking for someone who just logs on for raids. We like to see people who log on and help one another. Most of the guild usually chills in vent and talks. We strive on our close nit raiding core.
-Well equipped with new WotLK gear gemmed and enchanted to fill your functional needs.- Please. Please. Do not show up to a raid un-enchanted or un-gemmed. Also along this line do not come with pre wrath enchants on your wrath gear and don't show up with green gems in your gear. It's understandable to have your not best in slot item enchanted with the 500g enchant but with the price of gems on the server you can easily gem to get the most out of your gear. Like previously stated if you need help with this talk to an officer. Also as an applicant we understand that you might not have every piece you need out of naxx. But make an effort to come with every piece of gear that you can from either badges, heroics, or crafted pieces. Don't come in with Pre- Wrath gear and expect to be granted free loot.
-We want no drama, so please don't bring any.
-Be skilled and know your class. We won't be carrying you through our raids.
Our goal
The Goal of Thunderstruck is to be a casual raiding guild in terms of time commitment while destroying content and progressing along side the best Tortheldrin has to offer. We want you to be a part of that, but only so long as you are willing to be a part of it. Your willingness is demonstrated to us by your performance in raids, and the care with which you prepare for them. Know that we ask only of you, what we ourselves are willing to do.
If you have anymore questions feel free to contact an officer in game.
Officers:
Eilwyn
Wobbuffet
Daylight
(Don't be afraid to ask anybody in guild if one of the officers are online. I personally have many alts and would be more than happy to talk to anybody about our guild.)
We are looking forward to raiding with everyone
Sincerely,
The Officers of Thunderstruck
